The most efficient and safest way of getting people back into their vehicles is picking the lock, and this works most of the time. We have lock picks for every vehicle on the road, so therefore, as a rule, we can get into every car on British roads.
There are however, occasions where this doesn’t work, and this is usually because the lock has seized up with dust and grime after being untouched for years. There are several other methods of gaining entry that pose minimal risk that we use after this, but these can’t be discussed here in case the wrong people use the information.
Between these methods, we almost always get in without having to use severe destructive entry (i.e. drilling door locks or breaking windows).
Breaking windows is always a talking point, and it is extremely rare that we ever have to do it. If all else fails, it is unfortunately something that just can’t be helped, but we have to stress how uncommon it is. If it does happen to you, we would put CrashWrap on the window before breaking it to prevent glass shatterings from getting all over your vehicle interior. Then, afterwards, we would put it over the gap until you get a replacement window.
